Six Strategies To Instagram Success For Med Spas
Ready to take your Instagram to the next level!?!? Today we want to talk about six successful branding strategies that you need to know if you want to grow your clientele or business using Instagram. Embracing social media and hopping on board is essential to your success because as we all know social media isn’t dying out anytime soon. With that being said, here are six strategies that you should know if you want to be a successful Med Spa on IG.
Strategy #1 - Forget the Numbers
Everyone wants that follower count to go up, but what good is a high follower count if no one is taking action?
If your goal for social media is to get as many followers as possible, We’re sorry to say but you're playing the wrong game. It’s about being profitable, not popular.
We have seen accounts with 20k+ followers with NO engagement and no bookings and we personally have clients with under 1k followers that are booked out months in advance.
The goal for your social media should be to serve your community, it’s that simple. Your ideal client that is the best fit for your business will find you. Your focus should be on keeping the same message and turning your followers into clients. Don’t get caught up in the numbers.
Strategy #2 - Treat Your Instagram Like a Store Front
A lot of Med Spa owners reach out to us wanting paid social media ads, or reach out and say they have tried ads but they don’t work. When we go to their Instagram we can see why, If your Instagram and Facebook aren’t on point, dumping money into ads is just a waste of time, to be honest.
People will ALWAYS go to your Instagram page and putting your best effort into making your page beautiful, eye-catching and on brand is the key to success.
Quality counts in the videos, reels, photos, simple backdrops, good lighting, and good flattering angles. People visiting your Med spa want to leave looking and feeling their best. Your Instagram account should reflect this with high-quality images and videos that showcase your spa in the best light possible.
Here are some strategies to help with enhancing your quality on Instagram:
Post high-quality images and videos- Make sure you always have good lighting and a steady hand with your camera or smartphone. Be choosy about photos that live on your grid. There should be a mix of before and afters, in-the-moment treatments, and promotional photos.
Here are some Pro tips on how to take high-quality photos/videos:
Use Natural Lighting When Possible
Make sure there is no clutter in the background
Make Sure your photos are centered
If using a smartphone, clean your lens regularly and tap on the center of the image you are capturing to focus when taking a picture
Play with different settings (I personally love portrait mode, it focuses on the subject and blurs the background to make your content pop)
Utilize editing apps. My personal favorites are Lightroom, Facetune, Inshot, Pic Stitch, and Canva (Pro Tip: Upload your photo to Canvas Instagram template so you get a perfectly portioned image every time.)
Utilize Stories - ‘Stories’ are an interaction tool. Use them for casual behind-the-scenes content, live updates and polls
Make sure to post reels - Reels are the preferred choice of Instagram users and get the most engagement so make sure to use ‘reels’ to showcase your treatments, results and entertain your followers in bite-sized videos.
Create a color scheme. Use your brand’s color scheme to include in your photos. This can help with branding and help to keep a cohesive look on the overall platform.
Do this exercise: Look at 5 Instagram accounts of Med Spas or Injectors that you admire. Look at what kind of pictures, reels, and videos they’re posting and look at your pictures and notice the differences in them. This easy exercise can really give a sense of where you can improve.
#3 Create A Consistent Brand Identity
Your brand identity is how your Med Spa presents itself to your clients. It includes visual elements such as color, design, and your logo, as well as the tone of voice in which your Med Spa communicates.
Make sure you share posts with a consistent style and tone that matches your spa’s brand. Your messaging tone, colors, and imagery should be consistent across all platforms you are using, as it will help users know what to expect when following you, and will allow them to recognize your specific brand imaging easily.
The easiest way to do this is to match the colors of your Med spa’s design and translate that in your posts, while your captions should reflect your Med spa’s tone of voice, such as fun or professional.
In the example from PCA Skin below, you can see that they emphasize the dark blue of their own branding in their posts for a consistent and appealing Instagram feed.
Strategy #4- Stay Consistent
No, you don’t have to post every day all day, but you can’t disappear either. People are following you because they want to hear your messaging. That is why they are there. They want to connect. They want to see what you're up to. You must give the people what they want. If you're not showing up consistently for them they are not going to show up consistently for you.
It is important that you pick a schedule you can stick with so you are constantly there for your audience.
Strategy #5 Remember Your Audience
Let’s talk target market. It is important to know who you are talking to. A lot of people think they want all clients, when in fact they want to attract specific clients, the lifetime clients. When we start talking to our ideal clientele things start to click for both you and them, the referrals start flowing and your business really grows and thrives.
However, after we start posting with our ideal client in mind we don’t want to forget to interact with them! This means that you should always reply to comments and questions, interact with users on your live feed, and post interactive content like contests.
Strategy #6: Make Contacting You & Finding Your Website Easy
It’s important to not lose sight of why you’re working so hard on developing and maintaining your social media: to, eventually, convert clients.
On Instagram, that means linking your website and address (or the area you serve) in your bio, as well as including a “Contact” button for phone number and email.
While contact info seems like an obvious thing to include, it can get overlooked. However, contact information is arguably the most important, as it renders all other strategies useless if you’re lacking the means to make it easy to get prospects in your door.
Does all this sound great, but you’re not sure how to put it into action?
